Chris Anderson

I heard Chris Anderson speak at a conference recently. He is the editor-in-chief of Wired magazine. His conviction is that "whatever business you're in, sooner of later you're going to have to compete with free". The internet has made so many things free, such as this blog, and he made the point that Google's commerce, all based on the notion of Free, is larger than many countries' GNP. He is writing a book, called Free, and is planning to give it away for free. Of course there will be strings attached in some way or another, and if nothing else, it fuels the demand for speaking engagements which are definitely NOT free.
