Friday Night Shinny

The local rink is open for general skating and hockey. Tonight, once the pleasure skating was finished, there was youth shinny. It started off with the time honoured system of throwing the sticks in the centre of the ice, then teams being selected, then the game. What always amazes me about shinny is that it requires a minimum of organization. Everyone follows the rules, no contact, equal time for all and they have a lot of fun. Too bad politics isn't like that.
