Graffiti or Greeting?

On my run this morning, along Cherry Street, I noticed this bit of graffiti. Or is it really graffiti? Could it be a gang symbol? Is there a secret Xmas gang, perhaps dressed in red suits with long white beards? Maybe it's a secret code.
