On the first day of skiing here, couldn't see a thing. Thank god it cleared up on day 2. Very large ski area with lots of off-piste areas. New snow helped a great deal.
Val D'Isere, France is very reminiscent of Whistler. Same feel in architecture and layout. It is also very expensive, expecially for accomodation.
